Don't buy a gift...make a gift for Mother's Day!

On Wednesday April 28th, Helen (also known to many as Chook) and I will be hosting our first class, for Mother's Day.  Here are the Mother's Day goodies we've designed.  During the night you will make an Easel Card, A Gift Box and six little note cards that fit perfectly inside the gift box. 

A perfect gift for Mum or just an upcoming birthday. IF you don't think you are creative....not a problem...we've done all the work for you.  Come and have a girls night out!

Cash Slider

Tonight I was determined to sit down and get something completed in the one evening......well...I did it...for a change! I made this Cash Slider for my brothers belated birthday gift. I'm not sure if I'll add money or a voucher..we'll just have to see!

I got this idea from Teneale Williams Blog. I've made chocolate slides before but hadn't thought to create a slide in this simple way. It was really easy to make. I think I'll be making many more of these through out the year.Items used:
Stamps:Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Occasions for All, Just Beachy
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Bordering Blue, Nights of Navy, Versa Marker.
Paper:Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Basic Grey.
Extras: Designer Brads, Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Organising Gracey's Wardroe

My little girl is very blessed to have so many people who love and care about her. Due to this extreme love, she also has an extreme wardrobe, even though she is only 9 weeks old. She's a very lucky little girl!

Due to the amount of clothes in her wardrobe, I made these size tags to help organise and also to ensure that she wore everything. She's growing so quickly, I'd hate for something to never be worn. WIth these size tags hung on the rails I can now put clothes in the appropriate areas. They were so easy to make. I just used Microsoft Publisher to make the tag template and print the size. I then cut them out and curly embossed them by running them through my Big Kick Sizzix Machine.

An easy project that works well and looks cute too!

Gracey's Nursery - Using Design Series Paper

When I was pregnant with Gracey I think I had convinced myself that I was having another little boy. The night before she decided to make her grand entrance, I had just finished decorating her nursery with Stampin Ups Urban Oasis Design Series Paper. Although this series of paper is masculine in colour it is very feminine in pattern. I'd gone with the whole Willy Wagtail theme, due to the amount of birds that can be seen from the nursery window.

For the people who know me, I'm quite a girly person. I couldn't wait to get pink into the Nursery when I returned home from hospital with my little pink bundle of joy. Due to the amount of work I'd already done in the nursery I kept the previous colour scheme but added in Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Real Red. Using Raspberry Tart DSP to cover Wooden Cutout Letters for her name and added some more birdies around the top of the room. The room is now a real baby girls room...Pretty and Pink! Gracey's Photo Board. The bird print was created by pulling a teatowel over a blank canvas. Cheap but Effective.

My Mother's Day Gift to My Wonderful Mum.

For Mother's Day I knew my mum would just love some photos of her beloved grandson, Emerson. He's her only grandchild at the moment. She refers to him as The Light of Her Life. I'd seen this little purse idea over at the Inking Idaho Blog. The lady who presents this blog does some beautiful Off-The-Page creations. I changes my design a little to accommodate more photos.


The purse opens with a velcro dot to reveal a mini photo album with two pull out tabs for more photos.

For this purse I used one of the new DSP - Haiku (I think that's what it is called! - I'll have to get my catalogue out later). Mum loves all the Autumn colours that this series of papers is made up of.

A Gift for Helen (Mrs Chooks Scrap Herself!!)

A Year Of Cards...for Helen!

My good friend Helen recently celebrated her birthday. Helen is one of those great friends who always makes the time to call, meet up or send you a little surprise. For such a special birthday I didn't jsut want to make a card so I made this Card Organiser (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/card_organizer/) designed by Beate Johns. I changes mine a little, putting rings on the side to hold it together. Beate used a binding machine.

Inside it has a pocket for each month with a little area for you to list all those special dates that require a card or gift. Once the card is made, you just put it in the pocket and wait for the special day to arrive. I love organisational things! I'll have to get around to making one for myself some time.
I also used a K. Werner layout to create the matching card.
