Gina's February Sketch Challenge

For Gina's February Sketch Challenge we not only had to follow a sketch but we also had to use some form of patterned paper. This card is going out to Emerson's cousin Maggie, who has just turned 1. It isn't the most child oriented card, but I really don't have many child friendly stamps. (My Stampin Up Wish List has just got longer......now I want the Wild About You set so I can make a bunch of Kiddie cards.)

For this creation I used the Certainly Celery Print Design Series Paper, along with Gable Green, Pink Passion and Pixie Pink. I also added Stampin Glitter to the cup cake and scallop circle punch to give it that girlie glitz.

Makeesha's Inspiration Challenge

This week Makeesha set this Sketch as the challenge. With Emerson and all his little friends turning 1 very shortly, I thought it was a great opportunity to make a card for one of his little friends birthdays.

For this card I used Stampin up Jersey Shore Design Series Paper with the matching Stampin Up card. I also stamped some 1s on the green and added one of my cuttlebug die-cut monkeys then added one of the stampin Up ribbons I received in a recent ribbon share from Jayne Mercer. I'm sure Emy's little friend Alex will enjoy looking at his Cheeky Monkey card.

The Challenge colours for Makeesha's Challenge this week. This is the challenge that I based Duncan's Valentines Day card on.

Makeesha's Colour Challenge

I started this challenge with full intentions of making a pretty girly card, but......somehow it has ended up as my hubbies Valentines Day card. It's funny how colours that at first appeared so girly have now ended up in a masculine card and it works well. For this card I used Stampin Up Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Priceless and Seeing Spots stamp sets.

Back into it!!!!

It's been ages since I've had time to just sit and complete a project. Last night I decided.....tonights the night!!! I sat down and completed my pop-up card and expanding folder (from Makeesha's Make it Monday). I've decided to give these items to a friend of mine at work, with whom I'll no longer be working with. They both turned out really well!

The folder holds a series of cards that can be used for writing notes or even recipes on.

And the pop-up card slides through the outer envelope to create a stand for the inner card to rest on. I'll find the link to the pictures of this idea when I get the time. (It's from one of the Stampin Up demonstrators......just not sure which one.)

My promise to my son...

Is to get his scrapbook up to date before his little baby brother or sister arrives in mid-July. He's only 10 months at the moment, but I have taken hundreds of beautiful photos of him which are all sitting on my camera, loaded on my computer or printed off in a box. For the next few months I'm devoting all my free time to getting all the beautiful baby moments chronicled. At the moment I'm not going so great.....only 2 pages completed. I think I have got to be a little less picky.

The page that I completed last week was from our annual Christmas holiday to Fraser Island. Emereson just loves the water! He even forgets about eating....which is very rare for our little hunger monster. We had just purchased the sunglasses for him on our way to the barge. We managed to keep him so occupied, that he kept them on for half an hour.

Hopefully... over the coming weeks you'll see alot more from Emerson's scrapbook!!

I am alive.....just on Dial-Up!!

I've been very quiet these past months. Moving, renovating and starting a new year at school, have meant that time for fiddling has been very limited. We are also having internet connection issues, so for now i'm back in the dark ages on dial-up. I feel like life is passing me by, each time I use the internet.
Over Christmas my (very generous) mum surprised me with a Sizzix Big Kicks machine and a Xyron 900 machine. I'm still working out how to use both to their full potential but thought I would have a dabble with the embossing plates and die-cuts to make this cute little card for Chook's (another blogger) little boy, Kyan. It turned out really well....I think I'll be using a similar idea for Emerson's first birthday invitations.
Expect to see alot more embossed paper and die-cuts in my creations.
