K Werner Colour Inspiration 50

I regularly check out what Kristina Werner is creating on her blog and sometimes have the time to join in with her colour challenges. This combination has been set to celebrate her 50th Colour Inspiration Challenge. At first I thought I would struggle with this colour scheme but in the end I'm really happy with how it turned out. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it for my Mum's Mothers Day Card or just as a loved-ones birthday card...we'll see!
For this card I have used mostly Stampin-Up products from a recent catalogue share I got from Jayne Mercer. Receiving that bag of goodies in the mail was like giving lollies to a child. My wish list for the 09/10 Catalogue is scary!!!
Material Used: Stampin-Up Clips Assortment, Real Red Grosgrain Striped Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Felt Flower from Flower Fusion Too. SU Papers: East Coast Prep (sadly retired), So Safron and Chocolate Chip DSP. Stamping: For A Friend SU hostess reward set with White Puffy Embossing Powder (I wish i'd had just a plain white - must get next shopping trip). String - Krafters Korner Coloured String. Oh...almost forgot - red fine glitter i'd bought years ago (hidden at the back of a cupboard.

Our Easter Getaway!

Each year you will usually find my family on Fraser Island for Easter but this year we were invited to be part of a house share with 4 other couples. The gorgeous house we shared was at Teewah (a short barge ride from Tewantin, near Noosa. We didn't have the best weather, which was good in a way - I got to do lots of reading. Something that I just don't find time to do when I'm at home. On our odd sunny day, the boys did a bit of fishing (with no luck), worming (more luck here - pity you can't eat them) and swimming (Emy is still not too sure of the waves) and I somehow managed to push our beach pram up the beach for a 3 km walk with Emerson (whilst being 6 months pregnant - I think the other girls thought I was crazy!)
The House - Sandyfeet!
Our little Easter Bunny - Dunc was not at all impressed with the bunny ears and tail!

Woven Basket for Mum!

It's far to late to still be up, but I wanted to share with you this cute little basket I've made for my Mum for Easter. I saw this cute little basket at a stamp share night run by Gina. Again it comes from the Splitcoast Stampers Resource page. When I saw it, I knew I just had to make one....so cute and so great for using all through the year for those little presents you want to give people.

It does take a bit of time to make the first time. Next time it won't take half as long as I now know what I'm doing.

Easter Box in a Bag....minus a few chockys. Oops!

It's that time of year again......the time to buy chocolates (with an excuse!).

This year for Easter we will be sharing this holiday with a group of friends at a beach house in Tewah. We usually head over to the holiday house at Fraser but this year we had the opportunity to go somewhere new. I've never been to Tewah....even though it is only just down the road (well..a couple of hours down the road). I'm looking forward to reading a couple books and having a few laughs with friends!!

As we will be with several couples I've decided to make these cute little BOX IN A BAGS, that I found on the Splitcoast Stampers Resource page. Due to my recent obsession with Bali Breeze DSP, several of the bags have been made with this paper, along with some Ginger Blossom DSP, Stampin-up ribbon and some cute little Easter decorations from the local cheap shop. I've filled them with little chocolate eggs and mini chocolate bars (minus a few that I had to try as I was filling them up!).

Alisa Tilsner Colour Challenge

Now that renovations and birthday planning are over I've been making the most of a chance to have a little ME TIME! While Emerson plays or sleeps I've had a chance to fiddle with some of my new papers, stamps and punches.

Alisa set the challenge this week to use Purely Pomegranate, Regal Rose, Garden Green and White. Unfortunately I don't have a great selection of products in these colours so I adapted to use what I do have. Yet again I made a Tri-Fold card. I'm having such fun with this style of card at the moment.

For this card I used: Garden Green Card Stock, Regal Rose Stamp Pad, Purely Pomegranate ribbon, Bali Breeze DSP (I don't seem to be able to make a card without this paper at the moment! IT's just so pretty!), Say it with Scallops Stamp Set and Punch, Felt Flowers from the Stampin up Summer Catalogue and the Eastern Blossom Stamp Set.

Mel's Weekly Challenge #13 ( Tri-fold Card)

This week Mel has set an interesting Challenge. For this Challenge we have been asked to create a 3"X3" tri-fold card. I have to say, I haven't thought to make one of these cards for a challenge.

The card I have created will be going out to a dear friend of mine who is expecting a very much longed for baby. I'm so happy for her and her family.

This card has turned out better than I could have hoped. I'm so happy with it, I think I'll make a couple extra to put in my stash (I just love these colours together).

In this creation you will find:
Bali Breeze DSP (My absolute favourite paper at the moment!!!! Wish I'd purchased more!),
Purely Pomegranate Ribbon,
Pumpkin Pie and Taken With Teal Card Stock,
Felt Flowers (from the Summer SU catalogue) and a teal brad,
and the Say it With Scallops Stamp Set (used with the SU Square Scallop Punch).
